Wow! I have totally been neglecting my blog. It so happens that I have had to take care of my number one priority- my boys! The summer holidays had me pretty occupied with playdates, swim lessons, beach days, just plain ‘feeling like a bum’ days, outings to visit the Lisbon Oceanarium, the Estoril Arts and Craft shows, Barbeques, the list goes on, not to mention the normal day to day activities to run a home. The saying is true: “Time flies when you are having fun!” I sure enjoy having fun, but do not like so much when the time flies.

Enough of that! I have a bunch of new crafting projects that I worked on in between the busy activities. I will be putting these up to share, shortly. For now though, I just wanted to stop in and make a note that I am still alive and doing well.

Next week, I plan to upload some new SCAL.scut files, that you should find useful.

Take care and catch you later.

Free Curvy Frame .scut file April 23, 2009

Hi Crafters, here is curvy frame.scut file I created that will make a fabulous frame for your cards, or that you can use on your scrapbook pages. I know that it would be a great idea for me to post a project where I used the file also. Anyhow, that is why there are backlinks. If you use this frame, send me a jpeg of it. Alternatively, you can send a link of the page on your blog, and I will gladly backlink it here on this post. Send Mail

Have fun creating!!

Spring has sprung .scut files April 2, 2009

Hi Crafters,  You can use this .scut file to cut out a welded  HB.  This can be used on cards to say Happy Birthday, or if you have initials that are HB.  Also posted today is a Springy flower file that you can use to decorate whatever your heart desires.  This may be a tip or not: use pattern paper instead of plain card stock, or you can layer using a combination of both.

Hope you are enjoying the Spring.  I sure am, and also looking forward to celebrating Easter.  Thanks for stopping by.

Download Free scallop circle .scut file March 17, 2009

Happy St. Patty’s Day.  Yes, its time I shared another .scut file with you.  It is not exactly a clover leaf, but close enough.  🙂  I have sized this image at 1.75″ x 1.75″ to cut a similar size as the SU Scallop circle.  Hope you find it useful and fun.

Free Swirly Border .scut file February 16, 2009

Hello Crafters,

I discovered several nights ago a way for  you to access my .scut files.  First I had to make a decision on which photo sharing account to open,  I chose www.4shared.com.  After troubleshooting, I think that the settings are correct.  Now, let’s see if you will be able to retrieve the file I have uploaded.

These types of files are for use with the Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) program, designed to work with the Cricut machine.

Available for download is a border I put together.  I am calling it Swirly border 11.804×2.5.scut.

These are the measurements I saved it in.  I plan to use it for a 12×12 layout (LO), I am working on.  I think it looks quite pretty.  You can fiddle with the size some more, of course, but the smaller size might be a bit too intricate and might tear if care is not taken when removing from the cutting mat. Also, please note, I find that cutting the blackout style is better than cutting it in normal style.  Wait a second, a vivid image of a vinyl wall décor just came to mind.  Hmmmnnn!!  Tapping finger…need to find me some vinyl.

I would love to see what you come up with.  If interested, here is the link: http://www.4shared.com/file/87857013/7ecef211/Swirly_Border_11804x25.html Enjoy!

This file is no longer available for downloading.  Please see my other free .scut files.  Thanks.

Can’t upload .cut, .svg files to WordPress? February 11, 2009

Filed under: Free SCAL .scut files — homegrownart @ 11:53 PM

Hmmnnn! This is a bigger speedbump than I initially anticipated.  I f anyone knows how to upload .cut or.svg files to WordPress, please let me know.  At this time, I might have to resort to using a separate photosharing source.

Tsst! Tssst!Tssst!!!
